Barre, VT – Race fans near and far may have gotten a taste of early spring racing around the region but the wick will be turned up this Sunday, May 3 with the 28th annual Community Bank 150 at Thunder Road Speedbowl! After putting up with a cold New England winter, Central Vermonters are ready to return to the Nation’s Site of Excitement and so too are the Stars and Cars of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour!

After two stellar events on the road, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour comes home to Barre’s Thunder Road for the first of two point-counting appearances this year. Former Tour champion Gabe Brown is back on top and looking for his first Thunder Road win this Sunday to maintain that point lead. Unfortunately for Brown and the rest of the Touring teams, there are plenty of Maplefields/Irving Late Models ready to pounce.

Four-time and defending King of the Road Jason Corliss will be in the hunt for his fifth Community Bank 150 win to topple the travel teams once again. Along with Corliss, fellow former Community Bank 150 winners and track champions Chris Pelkey, Kaiden Fisher and Scott Dragon will also be looking to start their Thunder Road season on the right foot. Along with 2021 event winner Brooks Clark, weekly warriors taking on the big guns will be the likes of Bobby Therrien, Taylor Hoar, Brandon Gray, Stephen Martin, Matt Sonnhalter, Kyle Streeter and Justin Prescott among a few expected entries on Sunday!

While it is not a point-counting event for the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Community Bank 150 Sunday is the start of the championship season for both the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and the rk Miles Street Stocks. Colchester’s Sam Caron will kick off his hunt for Flying Tiger championship #3 with a wide open playing field looking to take the crown away. With only fellow champion Brendan Moodie joining Caron in search of another championship, a strong field of contenders including Robert Gordon, Logan Powers, Kevin Streeter, Mike MacAskill and Derrick Calkins, among others, will be looking to secure their first track championship.

The fight in the rk Miles Street Stocks is much more open with 2025 champion Kyler Davis looking to take on Late Model racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park this summer. Perhaps most poised to nab the brass ring will be 2025 top rookie and championship runner-up Hayden Bushey as the youngster looks to dabble in some Late Model racing this summer as well! Often touted as the most competitive four-cylinder division in the region, the rk Miles Street Stocks leave much to the imagination for what this summer will hold.

Thunder Road International Speedbowl is ready to open for its 67th season this Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3. Saturday brings the annual Car Show at the track from 9:00am to 11:00am followed by practice for Car Show participants before Sunday’s racing action! The Car Show is free to the public with grandstand gates open for those wishing to watch practice until 5:00pm.

The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour comes home for the 28th annual Community Bank, n.a. 150 on Sunday, May 3 complete with the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors for a roaring start to the 2026 season! Post Time Sunday is 1:30pm following the annual opening ceremonies that begin at 12:55pm. Grandstands open at 10:00am with Adult General Admission set at $30, Kids 12-6 for $10 and children five and under free!
