(Stafford Springs, CT)—When Stafford Speedway’s Limited Late Model cars take to the track on Friday, June 12 for the Lu-Mac’s Package Store / WTD Logistics, LLC. 30-lap extra distance feature event, they will be racing for a share of a record purse for that event.  Thanks to support from Max Zachem with Lu-Mac’s and Chase Cook with WTD, Limited Late Model drivers will be racing for a share of over $8,000 with the winner guaranteed to take home $1,500.  The $1,500 winner’s purse more than doubles the previous winner’s share of $700 with second place paying $1,000, which is exactly twice what last year’s second place finisher earned.  All cars in the field are guaranteed to take home a minimum of $250.

“We’ve had a great relationship with the Arute family over the years and I was looking to do a little something more this season and the opportunity came about to sponsor the Limited Late Model extra distance race,” said Max Zachem, owner of Lu-Mac’s Package Store.  “We really wanted to make this race a big deal and the Limited Late Model division has been growing and expanding over the years just like Lu-Mac’s so what better way for us to do some marketing than this.  The goal for this race was to get the winner’s purse close to the SK Modified® winner’s purse for the night.  Just because the Limited Late Models are a smaller division, those teams all work on their cars just as hard as SK Modified® teams do and I’m really looking forward to watching the Limited drivers and teams race for this extra money.”

“Max came to me with the idea of sponsoring this race and with my family roots being in full fender cars between my father and my Uncle, I’m a fender guy at heart and teaming with Max, who is an open wheel guy, I couldn’t say no to the idea of giving something back,” said Chase Cook, owner of WTD Logistics, LLC.  “We all know it’s not getting any cheaper to race and our goal is to make this race one of the biggest paying full-fender races at Stafford.  Even though I race an SK Modified®, a Late Model is still my favorite car that I’ve driven at Stafford.”

The expanded purse isn’t all the Limited Late Model drivers will be racing for on June 12 in the Lu-Mac’s Package Store / WTD Logistics, LLC. 30.  Thanks to Dave Miller and USNE Power, there will be a $500 USNE Energizer Bounty that will be available to any driver who can win the race after electing to start from last place.  Should a driver be able to win the race after starting last, their winner’s purse will increase to $2,000, which is more than the SK Modified® feature winner will take home that night.

“The Limited Late Models aren’t the spotlight division like the SK Modified® division is, but all those teams work just as hard and they could use some extra money,” said David Miller, USNE Power principal.  “Hopefully this will give all the drivers and teams a little extra motivation to go racing for this extra cash that can help complement their season.”
