EVANS MILLS, NY – The Evans Mills Raceway Park returns to racing form this Saturday June 13th with a jam packed weekend of events. The day before, on Friday June 12th, Relay for Life of the North Country presented by Samaritan Medical Center will celebrate another year at EMRP. The Free to attend event will begin opening ceremonies at 6:00pm on the race track and run through the night with plenty to do including craft fair vendors, food trucks, unique parade laps, raffle prizes, and moments of remembrance and encouragement for all battling cancer.
On Saturday June 13th, EMRP is celebrating Family Autograph and Legends Night presented by Glider Oil Co., Samaritan Medical Center, and Walmart of Evans Mills. Gates for the pits and general admission will open 30 minutes earlier than usual to allow fans to partake in the pre-racing autograph session on the track from 5:15 – 5:45pm.
The night also includes the annual Cruise-In car show. Staging for show cars is open 3:30pm – 4:30pm through a side gate to the midway. Each car entering will be registered and receive up to two general admission tickets for the evening. Parade laps for show cars will take place immediately following heat racing.
Walmart of Evans Mills will be hosting their annual fundraiser for the local Children’s Miracle Network at Samaritan Medical Center. They are bringing tons of raffle prizes and will be hosting voting contests including a chance to pie your favorite driver in the face after the conclusion of heat racing.
The racing portion will feature one of the most prestigious events of the season, the 4th running of the Zeigler’67 for the Kinney Drugs Modifieds. The 67-lap feature rolls off in honor of the Evans Mills Speedway founding brothers Bob and Dick Zeigler and will award the winner $1,967. The night includes tons of unique cash bonuses for heat and feature winners, and through the modified feature donated by the Zeigler family and many local businesses near the Boonville, NY area.
The Classic Asphalt Modified Series will be on hand for their first of many visits this season to join the card with the Kinney Drugs Modifieds, Christman Fuel INEX Legends, LaFave Motor Sales Crown Vics, Stewart’s Shops Sport Compacts, and Excess Storage Thunderstocks.
