LANCASTER, N.Y. (June 20, 2026) –Tommy Catalano from Ontario, NY used a late-race caution to take the lead and would go on to score the win in the Sportsman division at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday night. Jeff Brown from Hamburg, NY Jeff Brown from Hamburg, NY was victorious in the Late Model main event. Andy Jankowiak from Tonawanda, NY took home the checkered flag in the Mighty TQ Midgets feature. Patsy Catalano from Ontario, NY won the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4s.
Jake Christman and Andy Jankowiak were on the front row for the Sportsman feature, with Christman showing the way ahead of Jankowiak, John Barber, Tyler Catalano, and Mike Fiebelkorn Jr. Jankowiak would take the lead away from Christman following a lap four restart, with Barber also being able to move up to the runner up position. Jankowiak would pull away on the restart ahead of Christman, Tyler Catalano, Shawn Nye, and Tommy Catalano. Tyler Catalano would pass Christman on lap 17 to take over second place, while brother Tommy moved up into third place just one lap later. Tommy would pass brother Tyler on lap 23 to take over second place. Jankowiak had nearly a three-second lead over, just before Mike Fiebelkorn Jr spun while racing in sixth place to bring out the caution on lap 33. The late race restart would see Catalano take the lead away from Jankowiak coming to the white flag and he would go on to score his first win of the season.
Dave Heitzhaus and Bob Weber brought the Late Models to the green flag for their main event, with Heitzhaus in the lead ahead of Weber and Jeff Brown. Weber would take the lead away on lap four. Brown would pass Hetizhaus on lap eight to take over second place. Brown would reel in and would pass Weber with five laps remaining to take the race lead away. Brown would go on to score the feature win. Dave Heitzhaus won the 7-lap qualifying heat in memory and honor of WNY racing legend and icon Art Clark, who passed away during the offseason.
Ronnie Flaim and Kyle Hutchinson were on the front row for the Mighty TQ Midgets feature event, with Flaim in the lead ahead of Hutch, Mark Schulz, Nick Groff and Brendan Wallace. Flaim would continue to lead Hutchinson, Schulz, Wallace, and Andy Jankowiak early on. The caution would come out on lap nine for a Mark Schulz spin to bunch the field back up. Hutchinson would take the lead away on lap 10, with Jankowiak taking over second on lap 11. The caution would come back out on lap 15, as Ronnie Flaim and Jonathan Reid got together in turn three. Jankowiak would go on to score the feature win.
Mason Russo and Caiden Ingerick brought the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s to the green flag for their main event, with Ingerick showing the way. Jeff Szafraniec was up to second place before pulling into the infield with an issue on lap four. Patsy Catalano would take the lead away from Ingerick on lap six. Catalano would go on to score his first career Lancaster victory.
Stock car racing continues at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday, June 27 as the Sportsman, Street Stocks, and the 4 Cylinders will all be in action. Pit gates will open at 2pm, with grandstands opening at 4pm, and racing will begin at 6pm.
