EVANS MILLS, NY – The time has come. Track Champions have been crowned at the Evans Mills Raceway Park across six divisions and kart racing and now all focus turns to the 7th Annual John Burr Classic September 17-19, 2026. Presenting Partners TJ Toyota, Waite Toyota, Ken Tibbles Roofing, and NAPA Auto Parts are committed to bringing the thrilling action to the 3/8th mile oval again! The annual weekend celebrates the life and professional work of legendary track announcer John Burr who served as the voice of racing in the north country since the early 1960s.
Lap-sponsorships are currently open for the Kinney Drugs Modifieds 75-lap feature with a $25 minimum per lap. All money pooled from lap sponsorships will be divided evenly among the entire Modified field of drivers. Lap sponsorships may be donated through the Evans Mills Raceway Park Facebook page by messaging the page.
New for the 7th addition includes a Thursday night John Burr Kartway Classic, Ray Hedger Classic 33 for Small Block Supers, and the Championship race for the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour.

Thursday evening includes the first ever John Burr Kartway Classic with racing across many divisions including Junior Clone Karts, Pro Clone Karts, Xtreme Budget Predator Karts, and Sunflower 50 Karts.
Friday night’s program is highlighted by the Ray Hedger Classic 33 for the Jake’s Automotive Small Block Supermodifieds from the Oswego Speedway, a consistent series at the John Burr Classic. The winner car will go home $1,633 richer. Joining the night is the first Christman Fuel Service INEX Legend race of a double header weekend, and the Excess Storage Thunderstocks. Two separate vintage series have joined the evening including the Classic Asphalt Modified Series for their largest projected field of cars ever, and the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour deciding their season champion at the conclusion of their feature.
Saturday’s racing is headlined by the ISMA MSS Supermodifieds Championship Race with the battle for the top spot between Tyler Shullick, Mike McVetta, and Mike Ordway Jr.. The Kinney Drugs Modifieds will roll off for the 7th John Burr Classic 75. The Christman Fuel Service INEX Legends will complete their double header weekend with a 30-lap INEX National Qualifier awarding entry bids for the top driver of each INEX division to the yearly Asphalt Nationals later in the fall. The Stewart’s Shops Sport Compact and LaFave Motor Sales Crown Vics will round out the evening.
