(Butler Township, Pa. 10-26-26) The 25th Annual King of the Green (KoG) slated for this coming Sunday, November 1, at Evergreen Raceway has been well touted with the DW Machine & Fabricating Company Late Model 100 paying $8000-to-win, plus the Tour Type Modifieds, Rotten-and-Forgotten and Factory Stocks which are also in action.

But the KoG would not be complete without the Four Cylinder division, one of the most highly supported classes at the paved 1/3-mile oval.

When the schedule of events for this year’s KoG was announced, the Four Cylinder division—sponsored by Barbush Auto Sales of Drums—was set to award the winner of the 30-lap feature $600. However, if 30 or more cars had registered then the winner’s share would go to $800 with $200 to take the green.

The good news is the number has been met, the even better news is if 40 cars are now signed-in on race day first place will pay $1000, with $500 for second, $400 to third, $350 for fourth and $325 going to fifth place and it will be $250 to start the 21-car field.

“The support from the Four Cylinders for this year’s King of the Green has been absolutely remarkable and we want to make it worth their effort by awarding even more of a payout,” said track owner/promoter Jason Makarewicz.

“When we saw that the 30 car number was met and quite quickly too, we felt the need to enhance their day yet again by offering even more of an incentive to come out and race with us.”

20 cars will start the main plus there will be a “Promoter’s Choice” to make it 21 cars taking the green. Heat races and consi’s will be used to make up the starting grid.

The KoG is all set for this Sunday starting at 2:00 pm.

The Late Models will race for a track-record $8,000 winner’s purse in the 100-lap DW Machine & Fabrication Company event. If 30 or more cars sign in on race day, the winner’s share will increase to an impressive $10,000.

The Modifieds will compete in a 50-lap feature paying $2,500 to win. The Rotten-and-Forgotten and Factory Stocks are 30 lap features.

An open practice will be held Saturday October 31, from noon to 5:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather, the King of the Green make-up date is Saturday, November 7.

Evergreen Raceway is located at 183 Mill Mountain Road, St. Johns, Pa. News and information on KoG can be found on the official track website at https://www.evergreenracewaypark.com/ .
