N. Woodstock, NH — A packed pit-area welcomed fans to celebrate the first championship crowning of the season at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday. Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers and Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Minis showed up in droves while the Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars put on spectacular racing in their segments and the Wicked Good Vintage Racers brought the nostalgia factor to boot!

Starting off with the rain-delayed Midseason Championship segment two for the Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars, Luke Shannon quickly called out the caution on lap 4 as he flew up into the turn three tire barrier. Back under green, Jason Wyman took over the segment and the combined finish win with 3 points over Dave Gyger and Jeff Ainsworth. The Dwarf Cars returned for a separate twin-20 segment event later in the program with Chad Dufour at the helm. While Jason Wyman ended up in the infield at the halfway point, Luke Shannon took over the wheel of the Hill Motorsports #8 machine and took the first segment win. Inverted for segment two.

Starting the uphill climb from out back, the elder Shannon drove up through the field with and again overtook the Wayne’s Market Dwarf Car regulars to complete a clean sweep of the two segments. Dave Gygers two second-place finishes guaranteed him second in the final tally and Stephen Donahue returned for a strong third-place showing.

Jason Goodbout and Scott Senecal brought the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis down the pike to start their 25-lap feature. Goodbout pulled off quickly with handling issues as Senecal and Jack Hayes battled at the front. Slowed just once on lap 15 for Keri Driscoll, Hayes kept the lead under the return to green through the final 10 laps. Jacke Hayes brought his #09 machine to White Mountain victory lane for the first time this season followed by Kristian Switser and McKenna Merchant to round out the podium.

After a strong showing in their heats and semi-feature, Mike Clark and Matt Anderson led the 17-car Foley Oil & Propane Late Model field to green. Slowed on lap 14 for contact between Ricky Bly and Ben Belanger along the frontstretch. Now with Quinny Welch at the helm and a rear-view mirror full of Justin Eldridge and Kasey Beattie, the pressure was on the nine-time champ. While Welch and Beattie battled hard at the front, a flat right-front on the 78NH sent him pit-side for repairs and gave Beattie the clear lane. One final caution with six-to-go set up a drag race between Beattie and invader Richie Brown but Beattie powered up the outside lane to take the win with Stacy Cahoon coming home second and Brown rounding out the podium.

By virtue of an insane +6 earned in his heat one drive, Brandon Gray led the opening laps with Mike MacAskill to his outside door. After suffering through several early cautions that took out Matt Ballard in his substitute role for John Donahue and created damage for several others, the field took off and settled in. The final caution on lap 43 for the Thomas Smithers’s machine on the frontstretch gave MacAskill, Colin Cornell and Logan Powers one last chance at Brandon Gray. No match for the Thetford driver, Brandon Gray took the clean sweep of all three Central Asphalt Paving Triple Crown Series events for the Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers and the championship. Both MacAskill and Cornell joined him on the podium.
