Racing Scheduled for February 8, 9, 11, 12 & 14 in Florida

NEW SMYRNA, Fla. – The rumble of the 602 Modifieds will help kick-off the 2024 racing season in the southeast next month. Between events at Auburndale Speedway and New Smyrna Speedway, six different 602 Modified feature races will take place between February 8-14.

Auburndale Speedway will kick-off the racing with twin 30-lap races February 8, followed by another 30-lap race on February 9. New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing includes events on February 11 (25 laps), February 12 (25 laps) and February 14 (66 laps).

The combined point fund offered requires competitors to compete in all six events. The current point fund, sponsored by Aqua Duck Water Transport and Professional Motorsports Solutions, totals to $1,000. It will pay $500 to win, $300 for second and $200 for third. All Involved are actively trying to find additional sponsors to increase the point fund and expand the positions involved to the top-10 or even top-15.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for those 602 Modified teams who want to kick-off the season with a bang,” Brad Hockaday of Professional Motorsports Solutions and the Showdown Series, promoters of the Auburndale event, said. “With six races over a week at two different tracks, drivers have a great chance to get some racing in and visit the sunshine state for some Florida sun and warmer weather. We’re looking forward to working with New Smyrna Speedway for this point fund and appreciate their support. We also can’t thank Aqua-Duck Water Transport enough for jumping on board to help out.”

Auburndale Speedway’s events for the 602 Modifieds will take place on February 8 and 9.  The Auburndale races, promoted by the Showdown Series, will include twin 30-lap feature events on Thursday, February 8 and one 30-lap race on Friday the 9th. Announced this week, officials will pay $750 to win each Thursday race if 30 or more cars show up, and $1,000 to win on Friday if 24 or more cars are there for race day.

Events at New Smyrna Speedway for the 602 Modifieds will include a 25-lap feature on Sunday, February 11, another 25-lap event on Monday, February 12 and a final race to wrap the week set for 66 laps on Wednesday, February 14. New for this season, no 602 Modified teams will be able to park at New Smyrna until early on Sunday morning, February 11. This means that teams can compete at Auburndale on Thursday and Friday and have plenty of time to make it across the state to New Smyrna.
