Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials learned over the weekend that a perennial title contender is moving up to the big leagues for the biggest event of the season at the Nation’s Site of Excitement. Middlesex, Vermont’s Logan Powers will be behind the wheel of the #31CT Knockout Punch Chevy Camaro for Danielson, Connecticut-car owner Jason Glaude in the 63rd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th.

Powers already has a stellar record when it comes to Milk Bowl weekend as a two-time and defending Mini Milk Bowl champion in the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers who now gets his shot at the big dance. With Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif unable to commit to the event, full-time Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour team-owner Jason Glaude was in need of a driver and has put his faith in the popular Thunder Road competitor.

The non-point event for the international Tour will give Powers his first shot behind the wheel of a Maplefields/Irving Late Model on the highbanks he calls home every Thursday night throughout the season. “It’s a dream come true,” said Powers on Monday. “I didn’t see it coming but I’m extremely grateful for those who recommended me to Jason (Glaude). I’m excited for the opportunity!”

Powers now joins an already star-studded field entered for a chance at some of the $100,000 Vermont Milk Bowl purse including former champions Jason Corliss, Christopher Pelkey, Bobby Therrien, Stephen Donahue and defending champion Marcel Gravel, Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour chasers D.J. Shaw, Raphael Lessard and Gabe Brown, Thunder Road track champion Kaiden Fisher and more set to join the chase to Kiss the Cow at the conclusion of the Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank!

The 63rd running of the Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank is set for Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th. The $100,000 Vermont Milk Bowl kicks off with Booth Bros./HP Hood Qualifying Day on Saturday with Time Trials and Triple 50s qualifying for the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour Late Models before the ‘Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America’ kicks off on Sunday with the support of Northfield Savings Bank. Mark your calendars for the annual end-of-season spectacular with special events for all four Thunder Road divisions plus invaders like the New England Supermodified Series (NESS), NELCAR Legends Tour and the White Mountain Kid’s Division.
