- The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour travels to Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts this Saturday
for the running of the J&R Precast 150. The event is the fourth of 16 races scheduled for the 2026 season
and the 14th overall visit by the series to Seekonk Speedway. - Stephen Kopcik enters Saturday’s event as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader following consecutive victories at Martinsville Speedway and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. He holds a seven-point advantage on Austin Beers through three events.
- Stephen Kopcik is only the second driver to win his first two NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races in
consecutive events. The other is Rick Fuller, who accomplished the same feat in 1988. No driver has ever won their first three Modified Tour events in consecutive races. - Matt Hirschman enters Saturday’s J&R Precast 150 as the winner of the three most recent races at Seekonk Speedway. In those three events he has led 65 percent (225 of 451) of the laps completed and was fastest in qualifying for all three races.
- If Matt Hirschman wins on Saturday, it would be just the 12th time in series history that one driver has won four or more consecutive events at the same race track. The record for consecutive wins at the same race track belongs to Justin Bonsignore, who won six consecutive races at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park from 2018 to 2019.
- In addition, Matt Hirschman has won 11 touring modified events at Seekonk Speedway since 2017. That includes three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events as well as eight Tri-Track Modified Series events. He
hasn’t lost a touring modified event at Seekonk since the summer of 2024. - Only two other drivers entered in Saturday’s race – Doug Coby and Justin Bonsignore – have won NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at Seekonk Speedway.
- Austin Beers has finished in the top 10 in 33 consecutive NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events dating back to the 2024 season. That is the longest such streak in Modified Tour history.
- After previously announcing plans to skip the Oxford Plains and Seekonk events, Justin Bonsignore and Ken Massa Motorsports are entered in Saturday’s J&R Precast 150 and as of Wednesday afternoon, they are
- expected to compete. Bonsignore has competed in 243 consecutive series events, which is third on the all-
- time list behind Reggie Ruggiero (251) and Ed Flemke Jr. (382).
- One driver, Jayden Harman, will be making his NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour debut this Saturday at Seekonk Speedway. He will drive the No. 9 Modified for Wanick Motorsports as a teammate to championship leader Stephen Kopcik.
- Saturday’s event is the first race of the season that will feature a starting position redraw. The fastest qualifier will spin a wheel to determine the number of drivers that will redraw for their starting positions: 4,6,8 or 10 positions will redraw. Drivers will redraw in their qualifying order after qualifying has been completed (1 through 10, or however many are applicable).
