Lee, NH — With the season off and rolling at Lee USA Speedway, a look back at yesteryear comes around the corner this Friday with the Senior Tour Auto Racers (STAR) Sportsman and Modified divisions. These antique racers pull back the nostalgic curtain at New Hampshire’s Center of Speed this Friday along with continued track championship action for the Super Late Models, Tri-City Lining Street Stocks, Ridge Runners and MLM Diagnostic Crown Vics.
The Massachusetts-based STAR Tour has been in action since 1999 helping to keep motor racing history alive and well in New England. This Friday is their season opener after supporting the yearly car show at the New England Racing Museum in Loudon earlier this month and the whole roster is itching to get back on track after a long winter’s sleep.
Less than a week ago, Sylas Ripley pounced on a late-race restart to take the $2,000 grand prize and lead the point standings at New Hampshire’s Center of Speed. Corey Bubar will be among those looking to put everything together for his first win of the season this Friday along with Joey Doiron, Jimmy Renfrew Jr. and more for a fast-50 lap showdown.
Speaking of Renfrew, the Tri-City Lining Street Stocks are all chasing the Candia racer after his breakout win last week while the Ridge Runners are running after sophomore, second-generation racer Kyle Dumas. Dumas ran away with his first career win at Lee USA Speedway but will face plenty of Ridge Runner competition this Friday.
The MLM Diagnostic Crown Vics will also return to the 3/8-mile this Friday with everyone looking to overtake Lee-local Thomas Harton for the win.
New Hampshire’s Center of Speed will be back in action this Friday, May 22 with the Senior Tour Auto Racers joining the fray. The Super Late Models, Tri-City Lining Street Stocks, Ridge Runners and the MLM Diagnostics Crown Vics make it a full card with a 7:00pm Start Time. Grandstands open at 5:00pm with Adult General Admission set at $15, kids six to twelve are $5 and all children five and under are free.
