(Stafford Springs, CT)—This Friday night, June 5th, will see Stafford Speedway’s premier SK Modified® division take part in their first extra distance event of the 2026 season, the Casella Waste SK 80.  The Casella Waste SK 80 is the first of three extra distance events that will make up the 2026 Sign Pro SK Triple Crown, a 3-race mini-series that will pay out a $20,000 point fund to all SK Modified® drivers who participate in all three Sign Pro Triple Crown events.

The Casella Waste 80-lap feature event will provide the winner with a guaranteed $3,000 that becomes nearly $3,500 with contingency bonuses from a purse of over $20,000.  This year’s edition of the Casella Waste SK 80 will see the SK Modified® field try to unseat Michael Christopher, Jr., who will be looking for back to back victories in the Casella Waste SK 80.

The Triple Crown, presented by Sign Pro highlights the three biggest SK Modified® races of the year:

·         Casella Waste SK 80 – June 5th

·         CBYD Senators Cup 50 – July 24th

·         NAPA SK 5K 100 – August 7th

In a unique twist for the three Sign Pro Triple Crown events, Stafford’s typical handicap system will not be used to set the starting lineup. Instead drivers will randomly draw for their qualifying starting positions and earn their starting position in the 80 lap feature through passing points similar to the +/- system.

The overall champion of the Sign Pro Triple Crown will be determined based on cumulative performance in these three events, with a $20,000 point fund to reward drivers who participate in all three Triple Crown races.  Last year’s Sign Pro Triple Crown saw 25 SK Modified® drivers each take home an $800 bonus from the $20,000 point fund with Mikey Flynn having the best three finishes to become the Triple Crown champion.
