Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 This Saturday Night

LANCASTER, N.Y. (July 31, 2023) – The stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to Lancaster Motorplex this coming Saturday night, August 5 for the second running of the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150. The racing card will also feature the Lancaster weekly divisions of the Monroe Extinguisher Sportsman, Budget RV Outlet of Buffalo Street Stocks, and the Rusty Diamond Cores 4 Cylinders. Skylighters of New York will also present a full fireworks display. 

Grandstand gates will open at noon, with practice getting underway at 2pm. Racing will begin at 5:00pm. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams can enter the pit area at 11am, with Lancaster weekly competitors pit gates will open at 12:30pm. 

The concourse will be bustling with activity with the planned Whelen Modified Tour drivers autograph session and Lancaster legends autograph session taking place at 5:45pm at the tables near the main gates. The stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will also be joined by three living legends of Lancaster Motorplex, Sege Fidanza, Tim Mangus, and Chuck Hossfeld. Hossfeld is also expected to be in competition, driving the Joey Sterns owned, Billy Putney prepared number 14. 

Grandstand tickets for the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150, are available at www.SeetheEvents.com for $35 for adults, and $15 for children aged 12 and under. Senior and Active Military tickets are also available for $25. To avoid the long lines at the Lancaster box office the day of the event, the quickest way to secure your tickets is to purchase online. 

The Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is expected to draw a full-field of cars. Tour regulars Justin Bonsignore, Doug Coby, Ron Silk, and Austin Beers are set to do battle with hometown heroes and anticipated local favorites. Also confirmed to be in attendance is multi-time Lancaster modified winner Matt Hirschman and second-generation driver “Mad Max”, Max McLaughlin. McLaughlin finished third in his first career Lancaster start in the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 in 2021, and is the son of Lancaster modified winner “Magic Shoes” Mike McLaughlin. 

In addition to the strong purse, a lucrative lap program is also up for grabs, The top-three drivers of all sponsored laps will $100 in memory of Zachary Hackett, the late son of event promoter and owner of Speed Enterprises Entertainment, Mike Myers. Racing since 1959, the speedway has a rich history that has seen winners that include some of the all-time greats of NASCAR Modified racing like NASCAR Hall of Famers Richie Evans and Jerry Cook, Maynard Troyer, Geoff Bodine, Tony Hirschman, Rick Fuller, Mike McLaughlin, and Reggie Ruggiero. 

The Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 is presented by Speed Enterprises Entertainment, Franco’s Pizza, West Herr Auto Group, New York Army National Guard, XPress Signs, JJ Supply of North Carolina, Thermal Foams, and Whelen Engineering.
