One of the biggest open competition Modified races in New England hits the track Saturday June 8th at Monadnock Speedway. The Winchester 100 presented by JDV Productions. will be run in memory of a great friend to many and a big supporter of racing, Bruce Bachta.
Unfortunately, we lost Bruce last September and he will be missed by his friends and family, Bruce, like many of us, had 2 families, his imediate family and his racing family. When a race needed a lap sponsor or bonus money, Bruce was there, teams needed tires Bruce was there, teams needed help in the pits Bruce was there. He is missed and this race will be a wonderful way for all those who he touched to remember and honor him.
JDV Productions along with a tremendous effort from Kevin Rice will pay out over $52,000.00 in purse, bonus and lap money. The largest bonus comes from Bruces sister who has added $5,000.00 to the overall purse.
Almost 30 teams have purchased tires and entered including a late entry from Big Money Matt Hirschman. Teams will tow in from New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Massachusetts to race for the big money and celebrate the life of Bruce.
One notable driver making what will be his last start in a storied career will be Kirk Alexander who will strap into his Modified one last time for this special race.
The latest added bonus money comes from KLAS Motorsports who have added $2,000 to the payoff for Saturday’s Winchester 100 Modified Open at Monadnock Speedway to show their support for longtime friend Bruce Bachta. The three heat races will now matter as each will pay $500 to win. Bruce was instrumental in helping bring KLAS into existence.
Additionally, there will be a bonus for the highest finishing drivers in the feature competing with a 604-crate motor. That will be paid $300/$200 to the highest two finishers. We also now have a “Hard Charger” bonus of $100, courtesy of Rick Allen, who was one of many friends of Bruce. The total payoff is now at $52,492.76.
