FONDA, NY – The lead-in to America’s 250th birthday begins Wednesday, July 1 with the annual Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Firecracker 50’ at Fonda Speedway.
The 2026 edition will truly be an event.
The activities begin with a Pre-Race Party in the Fonda Fair Entertainment Building. ‘Tame the Rooster’ will perform LIVE from 4-6 p.m. An event wristband will grant access to the band.
Ms. STSS Siena Porter will be on hand with posters available.
An “Early Bird” admission discount will be offered from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Gate 2. Admission during that hour will be reduced to $20.
A massive fireworks extravaganza will light up the sky.
On the track, STSS Modifieds will race 50 laps for a $7,776 winner’s share as part of the HYTORC of New York North Region. STSS Sportsman have a 30-lap main with $1,776 going to the victor with Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region points on the line.
Also competing: Online Performance Parts/Stone Motorsports Street Stocks ($500 to win) and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
The pit gate will open for early sales at 2 p.m. and is fully open at 4 p.m.
Gate 2 will open for “Early Bird” grandstand admission at 3:30 p.m. All grandstand gates will unlock at 4:30 p.m.
Hot laps begin racing at 6 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m.

The Track of Champions Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing for 75 seasons. The speedway operates weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
